I purchased a pre-accutrigger 110 FP, 30.06, several years ago, at a rediculously low price. I replaced the old style Savage trigger. It sits in its original synthetic stock. I installed a 10 moa rail, medium height Weaver rings, and have gone through a couple of expensive high power scopes (bent one when the sling broke while shoulder slung). It shot well with standard length loads, factory and my own (3/4 moa or less). Once I figured out good overall length for 150, 155, and 165 grain loads, the holes closed up to less than 1/2 moa. My favorite target so far is 12 rounds, 6 150gr Hornady SST, 49gr Varget, CCI LRM primer, .02 off the lands, and 6 155gr Hornady Amax, same load variables, into one hole, 7/8 inch from edge to edge, bi-pod and rear bag. 5 shot groups at 200 yards are no larger. Although heavy, I happily carry it for deer and elk hunting! Spooky accurate is right.

Just bought my first Savage a few weeks ago, a model 12 varmenter, .223.
It is awasome! Makes even me look like a good shot! This thing is capable of same hole patterns at 100 yds.! I like putting a few holes in my target and then inserting dandelions into the holes. They make nice little yellow poofs when they get hit! I wouldn't dream of trying this with any of my other rifles.Good quality rifle!! Jon.

First off I love your rifles and keep up the good work. Im buying a Model 10 precision carbine in 308. Looking for a scope in the $300-$450 range. Mostly deer hunting and some target. From 50yrds out to 300yrds. I know my limits. Which I hope on extending. Hunting anywhere for wooded treestainds to field ground blinds. Could you help me out with some suggestions.
Thanks Adam

I would like to see some of targets submitted to " your best shot " by customers who purchased Savage rifles. I was so pleased with my mod 12 in 308 Win. that I didn't expect an out-of the-box rifle to do so well. Depending how the group is measured, my five shot group was maybe 1/2" at 100 yards. I know if I tune my loading ie: powder type and amount with some bullet styles and weights, this could give virtually a one " holer "
     Fabulous rifle for the money.
My best regards and thanks for such a perfect piece of craftsmanship ,

I have three....10FLCP-K .223, 10FLCP-K .308, and a 110FLCP-K .300 Win Mag. They are all spooky accurate for factory rifles. Yesterday, while developing loads, I shot a 3 shot .310" group with the .223. (Hornady brass, Wolf SR mag primer, 25.5 grains of IMR4895, 60 grain Hornady HPBT) Load still needs a little work but, it's good enough for gophers and other assorted Zombies.

Stan , have you done any work with the model 111 for accuracy I like mine
but I am having trouble getting a group smaller than 6 inch pie at 100 yards my 111 is chambered in 7mm rem. mag I am shooting a 9 1/2 rem. primer
56 grains of IMR4350, horandy 162 gr. bullet
I like the gun but I know it can do better than that. some one had told me it was the trigger pull that was the problem. every thing is all factory settings on the gun thanks for any help that you can give me

Yep, got an FP-10 Choate .308 Win. with the 26 in. bbl. Shooting Federal Match 168 gr. hpbt this rifle has really embarassed a lot of shooters at the range when an "out of the box" rifle shoots circles around some of their "custom target rifles". Wouldn't ever consider shooting anything else because I'll never be able to out shoot this rifle. Have a H&K 91-A2 and a FN-FAL that was built on contract for the Israeli Massad Group and neither of them will out shoot the Savage. It is by far way heavier than the other .308s and even though the others will also shoot sub moa groups carrying the heavier Savage is worth the effort.
